Facebook Tip: Have AMBER Alerts Sent to Your News Feed

Facebook announced yesterday that they are partnering with the AMBER Alert Program by creating 53 new 'fan' pages (Each US State, PR, DC and the US Virgin Islands) that issue bulletins for their respective territories.

For anyone that doesn't know, the AMBER Alert Program is a coordinated effort between a number of Local, State and Federal Agencies and issues bulletins for child abduction cases.

In addition to establishing the new pages, Facebook is donating 50 million ad impressions to publicize the effort.

To receive AMBER Alerts in your state, all you have to do is go to the AMBER Alert page and 'like' your state's AMBER Alert page. New bulletins will then begin appearing in your news feed.

Here's hoping you never see a bulletin once you sign up!
