How To: Change a Timeline App Thumbnail Image

facebook timeline app thumbnail image
One of the more important features of a Facebook page timeline is app thumbnails. Facebook gives prime real estate to these images just below the cover image, making them the perfect place to include calls to action on your page. This is important because, as you know, cover images cannot include any sort of call to action or advertising.

Changing an app thumbnail isn't difficult, but it also isn't as simple as changing some of the other images on your page. Here is a quick rundown on how to change these images:

  1. On your page admin panel (at the top of your page if you are an admin), click on "Edit Page" and then "Update Info;"
  2. Select "Apps" in the right menu;
  3. Find the app you'd like to change the image of and click "edit settings;"
  4. Next to "Custom Tab Image," click on "change" (you can also change the app name here too);
  5. On the next screen, click "change;"
  6. Upload the new image and close the screen.
That's it. Your app thumbnail image is changed. Please note that you are not able to do this for Facebook's native apps like Photos and Notes.

  1. buycheapfacebooklikes I’m wondering how I might be notified whenever a new post has been made. I’ve subscribed to your RSS feed which must do the trick! Have a great day!
