The Commercialization of Facebook (Infographic)

Here is an interesting infographic from marketing software-maker Vocus that attempts to answer the question: Is Facebook really a place for personal expression or brand marketing?

Given Facebook's recent obsession with creating revenue streams by focusing on brands, the conclusion at the end of this infographic should probably come as no surprise.

That said, why can't it be a place for both? If Facebook wants to be a place for both personal expression AND brand marketing, they may have to overhaul the news feed concept and the user experience in general to ensure neither personal nor business is sacrificed....which will be a post topic in the very near future...

  1. Just the right illustration of how things arte working on the cyber space. I think the emergence of different online commercials together with web video productions can also be attributed to the sudden hype of the mentioned medium for business marketing.
